The legal basis for the collection and processing of your data is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 f GDPR (a legitimate interest of Byteplant GmbH, or due to the initiation of a contract or due to legal storage obligations, Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 b, c GDPR).

SSL Encryption and Webserver Log Files

This website uses SSL encryption to protect the transmission of content. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from „http://“ to „https://“ and by the lock symbol in the browser line. Data transmitted to us via SSL encryption cannot be read by third parties.

When visiting our website(s), your browser transfers some device-related information stored in server log files automatically. This information includes, for example, the browser used including the version number, the operating system used, the time of the server request or the host name of your computer. This data cannot be assigned to a specific person (and is not combined by us with data from other sources). This data is technically necessary to display the content you have requested (i.e. the respective website).

Contact, Account and Chat

On our website we offer various ways to get in touch with us and to send us messages. It is possible to contact us by telephone, e-mail or, on some websites, using the contact form. In the event of contact, the data you provide in this context (e.g. your e-mail address, your name and your telephone number) will be stored and processed by us in order to process your request and/or follow-up questions. Your data will not be forwarded to third parties without your consent.

We offer a live chat on our website to help directly with questions or problems. As far as you use the live chat, personal data (e.g. IP address, location based on the IP address, browser type, operating system) are collected and processed by our service provider (SME BUSINESS CHAT LTD). The information you provide during the chat will only be used to respond to your request.

When registering to use our services or requesting an API key, some personal data is collected, such as your first name, last name, e-mail address and the name of your company. If you are registered, you get access to content and services that we only offer to registered users. Registered users also have the option of changing or deleting the data provided during registration at any time if required.

Cookies

Some of our websites use "Cookies". Cookies are small text files which your browser saves and which are stored on your computer. They are used, for example, to make online offers more user-friendly, e.g. by saving the preferred language setting. Most of the cookies we use are so-called "session cookies", which are automatically deleted at the end of your visit to our website. Other cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them yourself or - if you have configured this in your browser - until the browser is closed. You can also generally exclude the storage of cookies in your browser; however, deactivating cookies may lead to functional restrictions in relation to the respective website.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; "Google"). The use includes the "Universal Analytics" operating mode. This makes it possible to assign data, sessions and interactions across multiple devices to a pseudonymous user ID and thus analyze a user's activities across different devices.

Google Analytics uses "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, if IP anonymisation is activated, Google will truncate your IP address within Member States of the European Union or in other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area beforehand. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. The IP address transmitted by your browser in the context of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide the website operator with other services relating to website and Internet use. Our legitimate interest in data processing also lies in these purposes. The legal basis for the use of Google Analytics is § 15 para. 3 TMG and Art. 6 (1)f GDPR. Sessions and campaigns are terminated after a certain period of time. By default, sessions are closed after 30 minutes without activity and campaigns after six months. The time limit for campaigns may not exceed two years. For more information on terms of use and data protection, please visit https://www.google.com/analytics/terms/gb.html or https://policies.google.com/?hl=en.

You may block the storage of cookies by adjusting your browser software accordingly; however, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser add-on. For this opt-out, i.e. the information that tracking should not take place, it is technically necessary that a (in this case opt-out) cookie is also stored, which prevents the future collection of your data when you visit this website. To prevent Universal Analytics from collecting data across different devices, you must opt-out on all systems used. If you click here, the opt-out cookie will be set: Disable Google Analytics. Please remember that once you have deleted all cookies on your device, the opt-out cookie must be set again.

Google Adwords

Our website also uses Google AdWords conversion tracking, a service of Google Inc. Once you have reached our website by clicking on an ad placed on Google, Google Adwords sets a cookie with a validity of 30 days on your computer. The cookie enables us and Google to recognize that the ad has been clicked and redirected to this page. Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. Cookies cannot therefore be traced through the websites of AdWords customers. The information collected using this conversion cookie is used to generate statistics for AdWords customers, such as the total number of users who clicked on our ad. We do not receive any information with which users can be personally identified.

If you do not wish to be tracked, you can refuse the setting of a cookie required for this - either by setting your browser so that the automatic setting of cookies is generally deactivated or by setting cookies to be blocked by the "googleadservices.com" domain. Further information and Google's privacy policy can be found at: http://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/ and http://www.google.de/policies/privacy/.

Matomo

On the basis of legitimate interests of the website operator (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) we use the services of Matomo (session recording and heatmaps) to better understand user behavior on our website and to continuously improve our content and the user experience.
